The Briefing

Soju is the #1 selling alcoholic beverage in the world. Soonhari soju is a transparent distilled spirit native to Korea that offers a lightly sweet, crisp, and clean taste with a cool finish. Fun fact Soju delivers only about half the calories of ordinary vodka while delivering incomparable superior rich taste. As the leader in medium-level alcohol content spirits, soju can be enjoyed straight or it can lend itself as a perfect cocktail ingredient.

The challenge

Lotte approached us with the idea of creating Halloween-themed content while keeping their Soju as the focal point. So that is exactly what we did.

The goal

We wanted to embrace the season and the fun of the season to create a fun, spooky, and mysterious ‘Witch Potion’ recipe video that would successfully aid Soonhari’s Halloween campaign as well as bringing more exposure and leave an impression on new customers.

The strategy

Our strategy was to create a fun, slightly spooky atmosphere, but before that, we needed to choose a cocktail. We finalized a ‘Witch Potion’ cocktail recipe with Soonhari’s Peach Soju mixed with various ingredients. Right off the bat, the video starts with the elements related to Halloween such as the slow-paced spooky music, eerie decorations followed by the hero shot. We then transition to a step by step how-to guide for our views to be able to imitate. We mix ingredients together in a witch-style bucket to maximize the atmosphere and to be honest to maximize the fun of the season and the product.
